Our IT Platform Team provides and maintains the internal server infrastructure and related services for both operations and product development. We are specialists in Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, OpenShift clusters, and various applications including Oracle databases. We support and advise our development teams while providing necessary resources to ensure optimal performance.

In this position, you'll combine technical expertise as a Senior Systems Engineer with strategic product ownership responsibilities - a unique opportunity for a technically skilled professional who wants to shape our infrastructure roadmap.

Senior Systems Engineer / Product Owner

Technical Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain our hybrid infrastructure based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux solutions
  • Support the operation of Linux systems, OpenShift clusters, and storage solutions
  • Monitor and optimize existing solutions for performance and reliability
  • Implement security configurations for systems and services
  • Participate in the development and improvement of internal tools
  • Provide expert support and troubleshooting for internal teams

Product Owner Responsibilities

  • Manage the backlog for infrastructure services and platform capabilities
  • Prioritize requirements and align them with business needs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and deliver platform services
  • Provide clear direction for infrastructure evolution
  • Ensure timely escalation of issues affecting sprint goals or initiative timelines
  • Coordinate tasks/timelines with external partners

Required Skills

  • Extensive Linux expertise with advanced administration skills (Red Hat Enterprise Linux prefered)
  • Experience in a technical leadership role
  • Experience with infrastructure automation (Ansible preferred, terraform as a plus)
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (OpenShift/Kubernetes/podman)
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, CloudStack, or similar)
  • Understanding of storage solutions (Ceph)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented mindset
  • Good English language skills (German language skills is a plus)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in an agile product owner role
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure is a plus)
  • Experience with database systems (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
  • Ansible playbooks and Shell scripting proficiency
  • Relevant certifications is a plus (Red Hat, VMware, Cloud platforms)
